Hours and Summer Fun

It's been just over a year that we've been in our store at 524 N. Main Avenue. What an incredible year it has been! Once we realized that this thing could get off the ground, it has quickly soared beyond what we could have imagined. It is true that God dreams a bigger dream for you than you can dream for yourself.

This May 1st, we were able to bring my husband CW onto staff fulltime. So now, it is truly a family business in every sense of that phrase. My husband and I both work there. Our girls work there. Our son Brandon is the taste-tester and resident Nintendo DS ninja. What a fun summer it is already, and will continue to be.

For the longest time, people asked why we weren't open later hours. I refer them to the "What We're About" section of this very website. We are about family. I didn't want my family to EVER think they were second to our cupcakery. So, it was right for our family and the family of our staff to be closed at 2 pm. However, as we are into summer, now there is more staff. We have our rockstar ninja Mary Kate home from college. Ashley has graduated and is in transition. And Rachel's sincere goal is to work as much as she can this summer so that she can earn enough money to follow her heart and her purpose in life, which is working in an orphanage in Africa. That's just three of our many staff, but my point is...everyone is on the hunt for more hours. We were finally at a point where we had more staff than we had hours. So it was the perfect time to solve two issues: be open later for our customers, and give the staff the hours they all want. So here we are! Yesterday started our summer hours.

We are now open 8 am to 2 pm Monday-Wednesday, and 8 am to 6 pm Thursday-Saturday. I think it will be a good thing! I hope it's busy right away, and that we make lots of people happy with cupcakes. You will never find us open on Sundays, so don't look for that any time soon.

I'm excited about the new summer changes in hours. I'm excited about the people coming to town to visit Falls Park and our humble city, and hopefully, visit us also! I'm excited about our new summer flavors. I'm excited about the new transitions in the lives of our staff. There's just something in the air. . .maybe it's the smell of cupcakes in our new oven. . .but something just seems FRESH.
