Melissa Johnson’s sense of timing and business plan are looking pretty impressive these days.

The owner of Oh My Cupcakes in downtown Sioux Falls perfected her recipes by baking cupcakes for friends and relatives. Next, she decided to develop her interest into a business, rented a commercial kitchen for six months and began marketing her wares. Then, last April, she opened a cupcakery in the historic Tri-State Creamery Building.
