A Letter from Melissa and the Cupcake Ninjas at Oh My Cupcakes!,

Hey friends. If anything is certain right now, it’s that nearly everything seems to be UNcertain. We are your neighbors, your friends, and your community, and we are feeling that uncertainty right along with you. COVID-19 has changed our world in ways we are experiencing now, and in ways we will experience far into our future. But here’s the thing:

Oh My Cupcakes! has long been a place where people find smiles and comfort. Our Cupcake Ninjas like to say we are “Ambassadors of Frosting and Joy.” We feel honored to serve you in the community, especially during times like these. It’s our hope that what we do, even however small, may bring you a piece of calm in the uncertainty of the day.

In recent weeks we have increased our already stringent cleaning procedures. We disinfect the point-of-sale touch-screen between every transaction. We disinfect commonly-touched surfaces several times throughout the day. We’ve been closely monitoring anyone who may be showing signs of illness and have followed all guidelines to send people home, if necessary. It’s in the best interest of all of us to closely follow these standards.

In recent days, we’ve found it necessary to make some tough decisions. In any business, we balance the needs of our guests, the needs of our staff, and the needs of the business itself and try to make decisions that serve all best. In an effort to limit the amount of contact we all have with one another and to practice responsible social distancing, we have implemented the following effective Tuesday, March 17th and continuing through March 28th.

• Our 57th & Western (Bridges) and East 10th Street locations will close at 4 pm.
• Our Empire Mall kiosk will be set up as an attractive display but will not be staffed.
• We are switching to FREE delivery within 8 miles of either of our Sioux Falls stores (with qualifying minimum order) thru April 11th. Need cupcakes? We’d love to bring them out to you. We can even provide a no-contact delivery at your request.
• We are offering curb-side pickup at our 57th & Western (Bridges) and East 10th Street locations. Just give us a call ahead of time, and we will bring your order out to you.

We will be monitoring the ever-evolving situation as closely as possible to inform future decisions. As with many businesses, we may further amend our procedures in the coming days as we receive guidance from local and national leaders. We so appreciate your patience and your continued support during this challenging time.

On a happy note, we want to say we’ve loved seeing one family representative come into the store while facetiming with the family so everyone can pick out their favorite cupcakes. It brings us joy and energy to see you and we hope we leave you with the same. As Julian of Norwich said in the 1400’s, “All is well, and all shall be well, and all manner of thing shall be well.” I have faith that our best days are ahead of us. We are grateful to be sharing them with you.
