The accomplishment of something longed for...

Oh My Cupcakes! Sometimes I even hesitate to use the word busy anymore. For if we say we are busy all the time, how do we determine what "busy" actually is, and what "normal" actually feels like? So yes, I try to choose words other than "busy". The other night, someone asked me how the cupcake business was doing. I said, "it keeps me running, but fulfilled."

And running towards a specific goal is exactly what we did in our first year in the store. One of my goals was to be shipping nationwide. I've talked about this on my blog before, yes I realize. But there is something so sweet about working hard towards a specific end result, running up against one hurdle after another, then scaling those hurdles anyway and keepin' on keepin' on. Finally, a few months back (April, I believe it was) we were fully functional. We are shipping our cupcakes and sending smiles all around the country! It's a great feeling to know that the gourmet baked treats we've so carefully and lovingly prepared are getting into the hands of customers who have never been into our store. It feels like we are able to share the Oh My Cupcakes! experience with our great country. It's lots of fun, and it truly does fill me with a sense of accomplishment.

Next up, we will be intentionally marketing our shipping side of our business. It's so cool that people are finding us in searches and online, but we want to make sure everyone knows we are an option when they think of birthdays, anniversaries, client thank you's, or even Christmas (which will be here before we know it.)

I guess I just want to say "thank you," while I enjoy my little time in reflection here. Thank you for all of your business. Thank you for the amazing compliments we've enjoyed from you. Thank you for believing in us, a little startup family business with big dreams. Thank you for entrusting us with your special occasions, large events, and your noontime cravings. It feels good to be doing what we feel God called us to be doing. And to our Oh My Cupcakes! family, it's about WAY more than cupcakes. It's about building long-lasting and trusted friendships and relationships with you, our valued customers and friends. Loves!
